As a women from a disadvantaged background, I wanted more to do with my life. My inspiration was learning and upskilling myself, to find avenues to support myself and find out ways to empower others around me to do the same. It wasn’t easy for me to find a place to university, because of supporting and paying the fees remained a challenge.
I did manage to secure a scholarship, but that lead to many individuals asking how to do it. It was new to them that a disadvantaged individual, form an asylum-seeking background could move forth and get a scholarship at designated university that offer scholarship .
The business aims to work with individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, especially from asylum seeking, refugee, limited leave to remain and humanitarian protection background. It involves working with other marginalised-focused organisations, that aim to support individuals who have faced difficult challenges to access education or employment, for reasons related to their immigration status or academic level.
